Cookie & Tracking Notice
Effective 16 September 2026 · Somfa Financial Books Services, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
This notice explains the cookies, local storage and similar technologies we use on somfabookkeeping.com and inside SOMFA Business Cloud, and how you control them.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — sign-in sessions, workspace selection, security tokens, rate limiting, load balancing and fraud prevention. These cannot be switched off; without them the platform cannot keep you signed in.
- Functional — remembering your preferences, such as the last workspace opened, currency and display settings, and dismissed onboarding steps.
- Analytics — aggregated measurement of which pages and features are used so we can improve them.
- Marketing and CRM — website visit and meeting-booking tracking used to follow up on enquiries and measure campaigns.
Storage and lifetimes
- Session cookies and browser local storage used for authentication expire when your session ends or is revoked.
- Preference storage persists in your browser until you clear it.
- Analytics and marketing identifiers typically last up to 13 months, and shorter where local law requires.
- Offline point-of-sale queues use your browser’s local storage so sales are not lost when the connection drops; they clear once synced.
Consent by region
United Kingdom & European Economic Area
Analytics and marketing technologies are set only after you opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Strictly necessary cookies run on the basis of the ePrivacy exemption.
Canada
We rely on implied consent for necessary and functional cookies and give clear opt-outs for analytics and marketing. Quebec visitors are asked before non-essential profiling technologies are used.
United States
We honour Global Privacy Control and browser opt-out signals. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Africa, Australia and elsewhere
We apply the stricter of local law and the standards above, and offer the same opt-outs everywhere.
